2:50pm: “Songwriting” with Tom Peschges
Tom shares his songwriting process in this beginner friendly workshop that offers value for all.
3:50pm: “Preparing to Improvise – It Does Not Just Happen!” with Larry McDonough
An exploration of improvisation techniques and practical application for your performances.
4:50pm: “Band Communication and Synchronicity” with Adrian Barnett
Listening, communication, musical conversation, and dialogue within the band/group/ensemble. Q&A with Adrian and The Questet to follow.
5:50pm: “Jazz Music Exchange” with EZ Jazz
Bring your instrument and join EZ Jazz for a 3-5 minute song. Songs can be from a chart, the real book, or an improvised piece (bring music to share with the band, if you have it). Any instrument/voice/tap shoes are welcome.
Sunday, July 20th
12:55pm: “Harmonica For All!” with Nate Boots
Join Nate Boots for a session of introductory harmonica education and playing. This workshop will present an opportunity to take in fascinating harmonica factoids and provide a lesson on how to play a song. Attendees may either bring their own harmonicas (key of C, please) or borrow one at the event.
1:50pm: “Make and Take Percussion Instruments” with Jessica Jewell Conover & Michelle Roche
Drop in to make and decorate your own rhythm instruments, all supplies provided.
2:50pm: “Musikgarten: Music-Making For Young Children & Make Your Own Streamer” with Anja Scheidel
Songs and activities geared towards kids age 3-6, but open to all ages!
3:50pm: “Puppet Show” with Sunny Side Puppeteers
Sunny Side Puppeteers bring to life the stories of their unique cast of characters. Featuring original music by Abbey Dickhudt.
4:30: “Puppet Making” with Abbey Dickhudt
