Martin Zellar first appeared on the fertile mid-80s Minneapolis music scene as the lead singer and songwriter of the alt-country pioneering Gear Daddies. In October 2023, Zellar released Head West…to wide critical acclaim.

Brother Jon Band 02

The Brother Jon Band is rooted in Classic rock and blues, winners of the 2016 Famous Dave’s battle of the bands, their debut album, Open Jam, was voted best album by Duluth Minnesota’s 94x (WXXZ-FM), 2017, and identified as Best Live Band by KFAI radio, 2019. They are known for their energetic performances. Their most recent album, Dark Side of the Room, was released in 2025.


QM title

Festival hosts, The Quantum Mechanics, are an inter-dimensional jam band performing original fusion music based on assumptions, guesswork and pseudo-science, with songs about subatomic particles, parallel dimensions, alternative realities and inter-dimensional travel. Strap in for a wild psychedelic, quasi-scientific, inter-dimensional romp through the nether regions of the space-time continuum.

Bluedog title

Bluedog is a five-member blues/rock band formed by Joni (Weston) and Eric Buffalohead, with daughter Alexandra on keyboard and backup vocals, Tom Suess on bass, and Greg Mans on drums. The band has released original albums and singles to multiple award nominations from the Native American Music Awards and the Indian Summer Music Awards.
 


Saltydog title

Saltydog is a Duluth-based funk jam improvisational exploration that takes the audience & band on a journey through playfully crafted folk driven tunes inspired by the likes of The Talking Heads, The Band, classic country and jam band staples and everyone in between.

Given Names features Laura Schultz on vocals and guitar, Robin Becker on bass, and Michelle Roche on percussion. The band’s sound is an infectious blend of atmospheric Cocteau Twins-esque pop and rocking Riot Grrl energy. 


Frutiform title

Songwriter/guitarist Mary Traxler, drummer Aidan Sponheim, bassist Matty Hansen, and keyboardist Meek Bond make up the South Minneapolis-based band Fruitform. Their songs are inspired by big feelings, this (stolen) land, and its fruits. Fruitform is influenced by early punk rock, lyrical femme folk, and playful experimental noise. The band is interested in how sound works to liberate us into realities more livable, free, and collective. Their debut album, cake without plates, was released on the 2025 summer solstice and showcases the band’s multi-genre, DIY, whimsical style and was featured on The Current’s Scouting Report.
